This is a reminder that NYPAN's Board of Directors is having its Annual Meeting as follows:
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 9:30 am TO 5 pm, 195 MONTAGUE ST., 3rd FLOOR, BKLYN (TWU LOCAL 100 HQs)
Attached is the agenda for the meeting. Board members: Please arrive BEFORE 9:30 so you can sign in and get your voting credentials. Also: As required by the Bylaws, PLEASE BRING YOUR UPDATED MEMBERSHIP LIST WITH CONTACT INFO (email and cell phone #s). This is needed to determine the # of votes your chapter is allowed and the amount of dues owed.
Also attached are 2 sets of additions and changes to NYPAN's rules to be voted on: one dealing with dues and finances, and one dealing with organizational issues.
THE DAY'S EVENTS:
1. There will be coffee and bagels in the AM. But you are on your own for lunch; either bring lunch or you can go to one of the zillion outside restaurants.
2. The meeting is open to ALL NYPAN Chapter members; it is up to the chapters to decide what constitutes a member: folks can pay at the door if that is required by the chapter. This is a good opportunity to recruit individuals whom we have been working with on various campaigns. However, the meeting is NOT open to the public; for one thing, there is no space for such a meeting.
3. The morning session is devoted mostly to interviewing congressional candidates in CD9, 12 & 16. The first candidate is scheduled for 10 AM, and each interview will be approx. 15-20 minutes. The candidates were all given questionnaires and asked to return them a few days prior to the interview. When we receive it, we will post it so Board members can see it before the meeting.
4. The last item on the agenda will be the annual election of NYPAN's Executive Committee, per our bylaws, which entails the breakdown into regional groups of directors to nominate and vote.
